Rev. Jimmie Lee Cole, age 77, of Whitewood, VA, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Whitewood, VA and was the son of the late James Stuart and Margaret Taylor Cole.

He was a lifelong resident of the Whitewood area and was the pastor of the Whitewood House of Worship. He was a graduate of Whitewood High School Class of 1956 and known by many close to his family as the “Maytag Man.” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Horn Cole; brothers, Kirby Cole and Donald Odell Cole; nephew, Ricky Cole; and great nephew, Travis Cole.

Dot Owens and husband, Tony of Whitewood, VA

Sons:
Jay Cole and wife, Christine of Pilgrims Knob, VA
Rocky Cole and special friend, Kathy Acosta of Whitewood, VA

Brother: Earl Cole and wife, Christine of Whitewood, VA

Nephew: Harold Cole; Great Niece: Tessia Cole Helton; and Great Nephew: Trevor Cole.

Grandchildren: Taylor Cole, Casey Cooper, Isaac Cooper, Miriam Acosta, Rachel Acosta, Jacob Owens, Tom Owens, Elizabeth Owens, Kristin Cole, and Kaitlin Cole.

Funeral services for Rev. Jimmie Cole will be conducted Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Jay Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA. Nephews and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call after 6pm on Friday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands.
