STACY, Mattie Haddix (Centers) age 92 of South Lebanon, Ohio passed peacefully Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at the Pine Crest Nursing Center in Morrow, Ohio with her family by her side. Born March 9, 1915 in Belknap, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Elza and Catherine (Taulbee) Centers and had worked for the Totes Company. Mattie was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother and a long time member of the First Church of God in South Lebanon, Ohio and also enjoyed attending the Living Waters Church in Lebanon, Ohio. Preceded in death by her parents, first husband - Vernie Haddix in 1963 and second husband, James Stacy in 1983, loving daughter Joyce Byrd, brothers - Taylor, Kelly and Carl Centers, sisters - Cora and Dora Taulbee and Liza Hoskins, step-children - Daniel, Ora Lee, Woodrow and Doug Stacy; she is survived by one son - Hershel (Jan) Haddix of Waynesville, Ohio; daughters - Verneda (Gerald) Blevins of South Lebanon, Ohio, Vivian (Buzz) Ellis of Hillsboro, Ohio and Mary (Jack) Bertchtold of Morrow, Ohio; dear son-in-law Hobert Byrd of South Lebanon, Ohio; brother Russell Centers of Lebanon, Ohio and dear step-children - Edsel, James and Bobby Stacy, Reva Hockman, Carol Goodman and Nell Stacy; thirteen grandchildren; thirty three great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Burial will follow in the Deerfield Cemetery in South Lebanon, Ohio.
