Irl I. Faver

Sweetwater - Irl I. Faver, 78, of Sweetwater, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday at a Sweetwater nursing home. He was a retired farmer and rancher.

Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Friday at the Fourth and Elm Street Church of Christ. Dalton Yates, minister, will officiate. Cate-Spencer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Faver was born Oct. 1, 1895 in Valley View. He moved to Nolan County in 1906 with his father. He was a graduate of Sweetwater High School, attended Rice University, and enlisted in the 36th Division Engineers of the Army in World War I.

He married Ruth V. Scott in Sweetwater Dec. 1, 1920. For many years, he was an elder in the Fourth and Elm Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert M. Faver of Sweetwater and Don A. Faver of Abilene; one daughter, Mrs. John R. Jordan III of Abilene; one brother, L.D. Faver, Jr. of Sweetwater; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Rogers and Mrs. C.D. Callaway, both of Sweetwater; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Robert Dan, Will and Lewis Faver, Henry Bennett, John R. Jordan, Mel Hailey, and Bill Shepard.

Honorary pallbearers will be present and past elders and deacons of Fourth and Elm Street Church of Christ.

The family will be at the Robert Faver Home, 513 Pine St.
