Husband of Elizabeth.Veteran Civil War, Captain, Company B, 22nd Virginia Infantry Regiment, Confederate States of America; enlisted as First Sergeant on 1 Jul 1861, promoted to Captain as Revenue Officer on 1 May 1862. Killed in action at Battle of Lewisburg, seen shot through the heart by Captain William Bahlmann. He was buried at Old Stone Presbyterian Church then moved to the current memorial in mass grave after the war. Son of John Haviland Chase (1797 - 1878) and Malinda Kay Chase (1807 - 1899). Married Elizabeth Ann Wetzel (1837 - 1924) on 8 Sep 1859. Parents of: Greek A Chase Park (1860 - 1950) and Mary B. Chase (1862 - 1864).
