Luke was a 1977 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. After attending the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for 3 years, he transferred to the University of Tulsa and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in History. Luke was a talented professional singer. He was the Music Minister for Open Door Baptist Church in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. He also was a member and the orchestra leader at Graceway Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Luke was a member of Cross Gates Church in Jackson, Mississippi where he lived for 13 years.
