Her father was born in the District of Columbia, and her mother, Martha Mayfield was born in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. She married Henry Bell in Cook County, IL., who preceded her in death. She worked as a housekeeper to various people in Cook County, IL. She was a sister to Mary Martin Dupuis, nee Boyd, of Carroll County, IL; and a sister to Florida Martha alia Martha Florida Lawrence, nee Boyd, as well as Charles M. Boyd, and Thomas A. B. Boyd. Her brother, Thomas A. B. Boyd died young. Her brother Charles M. Boyd never married, but was a surveyor in Colorado, and was still living in 1910. Unknown where he died in Colorado.
