C Roy Benchoff, 73, died suddenly Saturday afternoon at 12:45 at his home in Charmian of a coronary occlusion. He had been in failing health and was under a physicians care but the death came suddenly.
A native of Franklin County, he was a son of the late John and Virginia Izer Benchoff, and was employed by the Advance Co. in the Greenstone area for 31 years. Since his retirement he has served as a gardener-care-taker in the Blue Ridge Summit area.
A member of Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, Blue Ridge Summit and of the Owls of Waynesboro, He is survived by his wife, the former Grace Condon; by two children, Charles E Benchoff, Mercersburg and Mrs. David Sanders, Fairfield; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and these brothers and sisters; Frank and Walter Benchoff and Mrs. Floyd Burns, all of Charmian.
Funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Wilson Funeral Home, Fairfield, with the Rev. Bruce H McDonald officiating. Interment in Fairfield Union Cemetery.
