Lydia Marie Lacey Mayfield

Born in Dermott, Ark, July 18,1944
Died in Duncan, Ok. May 10, 2018 (Mother's day)

My Sister
"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure."
She emulated the ultimate woman described in Proverbs 31

Husband; Raymond Eugene Mayfield. The love of her life.
Lydia and Raymond were partners in life and loved each other dearly. Their marriage of almost 54 yrs. was of total devotion and faithfullness made in heaven, full of love, laughter, care, and support for one another. Met at Southwestern Assembly of God University, Waxahachie,Tx. They pastored in the southern U. S. for 54 yrs. They moved to south Oklahoma in 2006 to pastor the Corum Assembly of God Church and later to Waurika Assembly of God church.

In Arkansas, when my sister was little, there were state highway signs that said, "Don't be a Litter Bug, keep Arkansas highways clean" Our daddy started calling her, Litter Bug from that. Other nick names were Lyddie Bug, Chea. Chea was one that my sister and I made up just between us. She was affectionately known by the family as "Aunt Lyddie."

She was very talented. She could sing beautifully. Was in special girls choir in Jr. High School an also at Southwestern AG University. Some of her most favorite songs to sings as solos were Until Then and What a Day That Will Be. Amazingly they are about seeing Jesus.

She could have the entire room cracking up with laughter from stories she could tell in no time at all.

She leaves us all with a huge void in our hearts, but the memories and stories of this remarkable woman will be forever an indelible treasure in our hearts.

She simply adored being with her family and cherished that time spent with them. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

While we will miss her and the time we had together, we thank God for the love we shared and for the memories we made as a family.

She was the greatest blessing God bestowed upon us. Not one day will go by without us thinking of and missing her! We live with the knowledge we will be reunited with her in Heaven!

Although, she endured many challenges in her life and faced each one with hope, optimism and the sweetest smile. We take comfort in knowing her pain and struggles are over and she is now complete.

God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you. And whispered "Come to Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away, And though we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.

She lives forever in the hearts and lives of her family and all who knew her. I imagine the words she heard from his Heavenly Father as she left this life, might of sounded like this, "Well done, good and faithful daughter, welcome home".

Her main cause of bad health was when she gave birth to twin boys with down syndrome. She almost died from it and never fully recovered . She had to have 3 complete blood exchanges.

In tears we saw you sinking
And watched you fade away,
Our hearts were almost broken.
We wanted you to stay, but when
We saw you sleeping so peacefully
Free from pain, how could we wish
you back with us to suffer the pain
again. It broke our hearts to lose you
but you did not go alone, for part of us
was with you the day God took you home.

WAS A TRUE SOLDIER OF THE CROSS!!!

The memory of a good person is a blessing-Proverbs 10:7.

** DEATH LEAVES A HEARTACHE NO ONE CAN HEAL, BUT LOVES LEAVES A MEMORY NO ONE CAN STEAL.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15
