EX-LUMBERMAN DIES OF GUNSHOT WOUND AT HUGO
Hugo, OK - Don V. Caylor, 54. former lumberman here, died Saturday about 2:15 pm of a
gunshot wound at his home, 414 E. Kirk St. Sheriff Bob McDonel said the shot, self-inflicted, penetrated the temple, death being instantaneous. Mr. Caylor who had been in ill health some time, was in the bathroom of the apartment which he and his wife had had for some time in the home of his mother, Mrs. Floyd Caylor. The latter was in Albuquerque, NM, with a recently - widowed daughter, at the time. Campbell Funeral Home has charge of arrangements for services which awaited word from relatives out of town. Surviving besides his mother and his wife, the former Miss Marjorie Martin, are two sons, James W. Caylor of Offutt Air Force Base, NE and Floyd Martin Caylor of Centralia, IL; a sister, Mrs. Fern Sullivan of Albuquerque, NM and two brothers, Fioyd Norman Caylor of Jacksonville, FL and Garth Caylor of Tulsa. Don Virgil Caylor was born at Whitewright, TX on Jan 1, 1900 (sic), but had lived in Choctaw County since boyhood. After the death of his father, pioneer lumber dealer here, he managed the Caylor Lumber Company until its sale to the Long-Bell Company some years ago. He was in the broiler-raising business here and was in Albuquerque for a time, then returned to Hugo. He was a member of First Baptist Church here.
