Edwin Otto Abel, 90, of Lakeport Square Nursing Home, 800 Lakeport Square, Leesberg, FL, formerly of Lowpoint, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 1992, at his residence.

Born Feb. 13, 1902, in Cazenovia Township, Woodford County, IL to Frederick and Anna (ELLSWORTH) Abel, he married Lola SMITH in February 1924. She died Sept. 16, 1937. Their child is Wilbur.

He then married Mabel (BAKER) Broers on May 25, 1940. She died July 12, 1980 and is buried with her first husband.

He then married Ruby (BOOTEN) Hanks on Aug. 1, 1981. She died Aug. 28, 1998 and is buried with her first husband.

Edwin is buried with his second wife (Mabel) in Washburn, IL. His name, birth and death dates are on his first wife's (Lola) stone in Clayton, IL., but he is not buried there.

Also surviving are one son, Wilbur "Bill" of Lowpoint; one stepdaughter, Norma Lee Ahrens of Metamora; one stepson, Merlin Broers of Bloomington; one sister, Eva Smith of Clayton; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was an auto mechanic, grocery store manager, and building maintenance man.
