Mrs. Harriett Hawkins, mother of W. J. Hawkins of this city, died at Salt Lake City, Utah, on Thursday morning at 7 o'clock, 1892. Mr. Hawkins received a telegram and at once started for Salt Lake.

Deceased was a good Christian and a member of the Episcopal church, was loved by all who knew her, and a devoted mother. She leaves three sons and three daughters, George Hawkins, of Salt Lake City, Joe Hawkins, in New Mexico and W. J. Hawkins, of Sundance, Miss Emma Hawkins, Mrs. Charles Harvey and Mrs. Alex Berryman, all of Salt Lake City. Cause of death is not known, as the news came through telegraph. Mrs. Hawkins went to Salt Lake City with the first train of emigrants landed there on the 24th of July, has resided in Salt Lake ever since, never having been away from there one week. All her children were born in Salt Lake. Her eldest child living is Mrs. Harvey, aged 40 years, the youngest, Miss Emma, aged 23 years.
