John Cooper Dies
John Cooper one of the old settlers on route 3 passed away last Friday morning, He was born in Mississippi in 1837. If he had lived until the 16th day of next month he would have been 77 years old. He was married too Mrs. Mary A Darnell Sept 27, 1877. He leaves an aged wife and five children, a number of grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn his death. So ends the useful life of a father, a neighbor and a soldier. Rev. Martin of the M. E. Church south conducted the funeral services at the home. The body was followed by a large concourse of friends to the Weatherford cemetery where it was laid away to await the sounding of the bugle call on the morning of the resurrection. The relatives have the sympathy of this community.
