Mrs. Alta Dee Belshe Carroll, BORN SEP.5,1910,age 92, passed away Saturday, December 21, in hospital. Mrs. Carroll was born and grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where she was a model and social worker. She lived in Forrest City for 62 years. She was a Speech Therapist for the Forrest City Schools for 13 years, and was in service to her community in numerous other ways. She was a founder of the FC Little Theater and remained as resident director for 15 years. She wrote skits performed locally and gave musical play reviews. She was a Charter Member and first president of the Junior Auxiliary, served as president of Delphian Club and the Garden Gate Garden Club. She was an avid horticulturist and flower arranger. For years, her home was filled with students taking dramatic lessons or speech corrections. She enjoyed golf with her husband and was an enthusiastic bridge player.Mrs. Carroll married Richard E. Carroll in 1933, and he preceded her in death in 1984. She is survived by one daughter, Ms. Linda Hasler of Forrest City, one son, Mr. Scott Carroll of Forrest City, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
