Author. He was a prolific French novelist, poet and dramatist, who wrote the autobiographical novel "The Confession of a Child of the Century" in 1836. In this novel, his unhappy love affair, lasting from 1833 to 1839, is documented with Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin de Francueil, who was an acclaimed author using the pen named of George Sand. Enjoying the Paris night life, he was known to be a "dandy." On April 24, 1845, Musset received the Légion d'honneur and was elected to the Académie Française in 1852. Many of his works have been adapted to 20th century films and his poems have been set to music. He wrote in the Romantic style. With a long history of alcohol abuse and heart problems, he died in his sleep.
