Frank P. Martin, 68, of Gastonville (Union Township), died July 8, 2006, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born Oct. 29, 1937, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frank P. Sr. and Margaret B. Hart Martin.

He was a self employed home contractor for over 40 years, retiring in 2000.

Mr. Martin was Catholic by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a member of American Legion, Morrison Ritchie Post 613 in Finleyville.

In his spare time, Mr. Martin enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and playing the harmonica.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Smith Martin; four daughters Tonia St. Cyr and husband Mark, of Courtney, Colleen Martin and fiance Mark Falter, of Monongahela, Christine Demchak and husband Mark, of Monongahela, and Erin Barger and husband William, of Gastonville; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty DeRobio, of Pittsburgh, Kathleen Perry, of Finleyville, Patricia Kaufman, of Pittsburgh, and Sheila Balog, of Finleyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Martin; and two sisters, Lois Black and Dee Fleet.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where a blessing service will be held Wednesday, July 12, at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery, where full Military Rites will be accorded by the Monongahela Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
