Vivian Mae Dillingham Skirvin, 88, of 290 State Road 156, Vevay, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at Swiss Villa Living Center in Vevay.
She was born Aug. 19, 1916, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Charles L. and Floy White Dillingham. She was a homemaker and enjoyed animals, fishing, boating and being outdoors. She and her husband moved to Switzerland County in December 1979. She was a member of the Vevay American Legion Post 185 Auxiliary and the Vevay VFW Post 5396 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Edward L. "Peanut" Skirvin Sr., whom she married April 5, 1970; three daughters, Barbara Ann Bolin, Susan K. Burton and Carol Jean Byrd, all of Indianapolis; one son, Thomas Lee Barnes of Florida; three step daughters, Linda Anast-May of Chicago, Brenda Rickett of Mooresville and Sandy Taylor of Avon; two step sons, Edward Skirvin Jr. of Greenwood and Allen Dean Skirvin of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The American Legion and VFW post auxiliaries will conduct a service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
