Lafayette- Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Kinchen Funeral Home in Lafayette for Ms. Noreena Ann Chavis, 55, who passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at her residence in Lewisburg.
Interment will be held in the St. Charles Borromeo Church Cemetery.
Pastor Joseph Damon will be officiating the funeral service.
Cherishing Ms. Chavis' memories are: her father, Joseph Olly Chavis, Sr. of Carencro her mother, Iris Damon Fernell of Lafayette; four sons, Bartholamew Joseph, Shannon Chavis and Curtis Chavis, all of Lewisburg and Elliott Chavis (Kiera Laws) of Opelousas; one daughter, Dayneia Joseph of Lewisburg; three brothers, Joseph Olly Chavis, Jr. (Georgia) of Lafayette LA., Damond Chavis (Raven), of Arnaudville LA., and Winthrop Chavis (Penny) of Church Point; three sisters, Carondelet Garrett (Ves) and Gwendolyn Chavis, both of Lafayette and Denette Ledet (Fred) of Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Pearl Adams Moore and Ovide Damon and her paternal grandparents, Vergis Chavis and Alvin Chavis two uncles, Orville Damon and Abraham Chavis and two aunts, Lorraine Goodman and Ethel Gooch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Kinchen Funeral Home.
