Ms. Mary Alice Nunis, age 69, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away, Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Wellstar Community Hospice in Austell, Georgia.
Mary was born in Haralson County, Georgia on February 13, 1947, the daughter of the late Anderson Clifton White and Ruby Hazel Pettitt White. She had worked in healthcare at Garden Terrace Nursing Home in Douglasville, Georgia for a number of years prior to her retirement. Mary was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include daughter, Terresa Jordan, Bowdon; sons, Lawrence “Peanut” Barger, Temple, Scottie Barger, Rome, Allen Barger, Douglasville; sisters, Sarah Timms, Felton, Linda Garab Green Grove Springs, Florida, Sandra Macy, Temple and Joyce Bishop, Sharpsburg; brothers, Robert and Jerry White, Rome, Georgia. Twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Powell Nunis and sister Patricia Clayton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow the service at Youngs Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedartown, Georgia.
