Atwell G. Burgess, 90, of Wellington, Alabama, died on June 7, 2016 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1944 and was drafted into the U.S. Army, 137th Infantry Regiment for two years during World War II. He was employed by the Anniston Army Ammunition Depot for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie (Jenkins) Burgess; brother, R.T. Burgess; and three sisters: Hazel Dison, Frances Berry and Dottie Dawson. Funeral: 2:00 p.m. June 9, 2016 at K.L. Brown Funeral Home.
