Ben 'Kenneth' Brown was born to Andy Alfred Brown and Janice Irene [Morris] Brown on April 19, 1934 at their home in Mountain Pine, Arkansas in Garland County, near Hot Springs, Arkansas. Kenneth had four brothers: Andrew Jennings 'Jack', Jerald M., Donald Austin, and Carlton, as well as a baby sister, Helen Rose, who died in infancy. Kenneth's father was an Arkansas State Forester and also a Fire Inspector, and his mother cared for the family and gave piano lessons in their home at Mountain Pine.

Kenneth initially joined the Hot Springs Police Department and then, in 1962, he became a State Trooper, where he advanced to the position of Sergeant in Troop J before retirement after serving twenty-five years.

Kenneth was married twice. His second wife was Zelda 'Dean' Inman and they were married April 19, 1994. Kenneth and Dean lived first in Russellville in Pope County, Arkansas and then in Danville, Yell County, Arkansas.

In his last years, Kenneth suffered from Alzheimer's Disease, and Dean cared for him lovingly until his death from pneumonia on June 10, 2016. He is laid to rest in Moore's Chapel Cemetery.

"Ben Kenneth Brown, age 82, of Danville, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at Mitchell's Nursing Home in Danville.

"Kenneth was born April 19, 1934 by Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Andy and Janice [Morris] Brown. He was initially a member of the Hot Springs Police Department and later joined the Arkansas State Police in 1962. After 25 years of service, Kenneth retired as the Sergeant from Troop J. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard and was of the Methodist Faith. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ben Kirk Brown; brothers, Jack Brown, Jerald Brown, Donald Brown and Carlton Brown; a baby sister who died as an infant; and sister-in-law, Nell Brown.

"Survivors include his wife, Dean [Inman] Brown, and children Lori and Teddy Walker, Lisa and Eddie Knight, and Steven Wright; grandchildren Lattie, Matt, Rachel, David, Kelsey, Joe, Steven, Lucas, Joey and Charity; great-granddaughters Averie, Riley, Allie, Kinley and Kate; sisters-in-law Pat Brown and Ramona Brown; and many nieces and nephews.

"The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the Danville Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John McCourt officiating. Burial will be at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.

"Pallbearers include Steven Wright, Matt Knight, Eddie Knight, Joey Richardson, Davy Inman, Ike Inman and Zach Inman.

"Honorary pallbearers include the Arkansas State Police and all of his caregivers."
