Arthur Van Erem, 71, 133 N. Superior St., De Pere died Friday evenings in a Green Bay hospital after a short illness. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Van Erem was born Oct. 30, 1904 in Preble and resided in this area all of his life. Mr. Van Erem married the former Carolyn Hager, June 14, 1938 at St. Charles Church, Lena. He was a crane operator for the Daanen-Janssen Company for many years until his recent retirement. Mr. Van Erem was a member of St. Francis Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Cletus, Dale, Jerome, all of De Pere; Howard, California; Thomas, Green Bay; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Charles, Lawrence and Norbert, all of Green Bay; Edward, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Anthony (Florence) Walzik, Chicago. He was preceded in death by one son, James and two daughters, Rita and Mary and two sisters. Friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere after 2 p.m. Sunday. Prayer service 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Church, De Pere with the Rev. Tom Golden officiating. Burial in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. A memorial fund for St. Francis Church, De Pere, has been established.
