JUNEAU- Kurt Gerbitz, 80, route 2, Juneau, died Monday afternoon at his home following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St John's Ev Lutheran Church in Juneau with the Rev Carl Mischke officiating. Burial will be in the Juneau City Cemetery.
Gerbitz was born 4 March 1895 in the town of Lebanon, Dodge Co, son of Mr and Mrs John Gerbitz. On 5 September 1920 he married the former Meta Quandt at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Norbert of Juneau, one daughter, Mrs Melvin (Adeline) Nehls of Juneau, nine grandchildren, two brothers, Alvin and John both of Chicago, Illinois, and two sisters, Mrs Margaret Zimmermann of Watertown and Mrs Stella Wolf of Fort Atkinson.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
