Eligha Adams Dies At 97
Born January 18, 1873 in Sebastion County, Arkansas. Adams died in McAlester on October 16, at the age if 97 years. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist church and retired brick mason.
Survivors include his widow, Rosie; three daughters: Mrs. Annie Cabler, Wilburton, Mrs. Lorine Wilcox, Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Helen Louise Bench, County Line: two sons, Claude and Benny Adams, Red Oak; one step-daughter, Mrs. Rosena Williams, Wilburton; one step-son, Alvin Sanderson, Wilburton; one sister, Mrs. Vada Noah, Lamont, California; 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, afternoon, October 20, at Burke-Jones Chapel for Eligha Adams of Wilburton.
Pallbearers were C.L. McCartney, Buster Ramsey, DeRoy Houston, J.D. Houston, John Simons and Elmer Dukes.
Burial was in the Center Point cemetery under direction of Burke-Jones funeral home, Wilburton.
