Oral history has Johannes (went by John) Rothrock (means red or scarlet coat) Jr. being buried at the Maitland-Vira (Early Maitland Brethren) Cemetery, can anyone confirm it? He is perhaps buried in an unmarked grave.

John was the second of seven known children of Johannes Rothrock Sr. (1684-p1744) and Anna Margaretha Krackel (c1690-c1731/1735) who married c1712 in Germany. Anna is thought to have died in Germany or on the trip to America. It is not known where Johannes or Anna are buried.

John married Maria Kreiling (1723/1728-1810) in c1737 in presumably North Carolina. John and Maria were the parents of thirteen known children, namely:

1. Michael Rothrock (c1745/50-c1795)
2. Margaret Rothrock Zug/Zuck (1738-1814)
3. Ann Rothrock Price (???-???)
4. Asenath Rothrock Shelly/Shelley (???-???)
5. David Rothrock (c1750-55 - 1814)
6. Catharine Rothrock Riegel (1746-1771)
7. Jacob Rothrock (1751-1814)
8. John Rothrock (1752-1827)
9. Abraham Rothrock (1754-???)
10. Isaac Rothrock (1756-1818)
11. Samuel Rothrock (161-1838)
12. Mary Rothrock Price (1763-1831)
13. Joseph Rothrock (1775-1848)

A book on the cemeteries of Mifflin County, Pennsylvania lists that Maria was born 23 May 1723 which makes more sense given the birthdate of the daughter Margaret. Johannes (John) and and his elder brother Philip Jacob Rothrock were the first known of the Rothrock family to reach America. The landing is recorded in the Philadelphia port list as follows:

"Palatines imported in the Pink Mary of Dublin, Jacob Bonn, master, from Rotterdam via Plymouth, qualified September 29, 1733"

The children are not in the correct order of birth. The family lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. After John Sr. died Mary moved to Mifflin County, Pennsylvania with her youngest son Joseph. Was Mary really 47 when she had Joseph? Is the birth date for Maria or Joseph correct?
