Andrew Jackson Neathery, born Russell County, Kentucky January 11 1820. Died Sharon Township, Fayette County, Illinois, October 6 1902. He moved here with his parents and six other children when a child. Later he moved to Fayette County and settled on the farm where he died. He married Sisley Elam and thirteen children were the result of this union. She died in 1883. Three sons and two daughters survive. George W. Neathery of Bond County also survives. In 1893 Mr. Neathery married Elizabeth
Elmore.
He entered the army at the beginning of the Mexican War and remained till the close of the war. He lost one eye from the effects of measles while in service. He joined the Baptists thirty years ago.
