Lester H. Sackett, born September 12, 1926 died on May 31, 2016. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary E. and son, Thomas. Lester and Mary had been married 62 years. He worked for Endicott Johnson for 13 years, a small shop in Endicott for 5 years and also for Kason Hardware for 24 years when he retired. He was an avid bowler for 50 years and his wife joined for the last 20 years. He also hunted and fished. Between his wife and him, they had three children, Thomas, Cheriann and Ron. He has 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was a veteran of WWII, Navy Rank EM 2/C. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Friday at noon with burial in Vestal Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am until the time of service.
