Alton Wayne Hagan, 67, of Lawson Lane, Willisburg, passed away at 2 a.m., Sunday, June 15, 2014, at the home of his son, Doug, in New Haven. A native of Marion County, he was born on December 6, 1946, to the late John Albert Jr. & Agnes Mattingly Hagan. He retired in January of 2013 from the Barton Distillery where he was employed for 47 years; he was a 1965 graduate of St. Catherine High School in New Haven and a member of the Anchor Of Hope Church. Preceding him in death was his wife, Carol Evans Hagan; a grandson, William Brady Hagan; a great-grandson, Joseph Dale Willett; a brother, Randy Hagan and a special friend, Earlene Mattingly. Survivors include, two sons, Charles Ballard "Chuck" Hagan (Rhonda) of Willisburg and Doug Hagan (Carisa) of New Haven; two daughters, Lisa Riley (Joey) of Boston and Crystal Gail Hayden (Kevin) of Bardstown; a stepson, Brian Madden of Springfield and a stepdaughter, Dawn Barr (Jeff) of Springfield; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Wanda Murrow (Danny) of Louisville and Linda Newton (Jerry) of St. Francis and five brothers, Larry Hagan (Diane) of Loretto, Joe Hagan (Faye) of St. Francis, Steve Hagan (Anita) of Springfield, Danny Hagan of Buffalo and Keith Hagan of New Hope. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 18 at the Anchor of Hope Church with Rev. Ricky Cheatham and Rev. Larry Baker officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Joe Hagan, Steven Hagan and Adam Barr. Casket bearers were Nathan Hagan, Nicholas Hagan, Larry Hagan, Steve Hagan, Danny Hagan and Keith Hagan. Visitation was Tuesday at the Anchor of Hope Church in Willisburg. Carey & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
