Jetmore - June Z. Setzkorn, 88, died June 1, 2016 at Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore. She was born on November 19, 1927 in rural Kingsdown, the daughter of Carl C. and Bertha Marie (Miller) Conway.

Her family moved to a farm north of Satanta where she graduated from Satanta Grade School and later Copeland High School. June married Alfred Setzkorn at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Hodgeman County. They started Setzkorn's and Sons Meat shop at their farm and operated it for 45 years. June and Alfred enjoyed having the elementary kids come and see all the different types of animals. June then returned to school, starting at Dodge City Community College and St. Mary's of the Plains. She finished her BSA as Friends University. June worked at Garden Valley Retirement Village as the Director of Social Work. She later worked at SRS in Dodge City and was also a substitute teacher for USD 443. June returned to college and then went to work for Boot Hill Casino and Resort where she met many new and old friends. She was also a grant writer for various organizations.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

June is survived by two sons, Carl Setzkorn of Jetmore and Mike Setzkorn and wife Debbie of Dodge City; two daughters, Sue Oldham and husband Tony of Dodge City; son-in-law Charles Bowman of Dodge City; one sister Arnabel Sparks of Norwood, Missouri; sister-in-law, Mary Conway of Klamath Falls,Oregon; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. June also raised Janice Keiper Eccles of Filer, Idaho. In addition to her husband, Alfred, June is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Bertha June Boman; four brothers, Carl, Edward, Ted, and Tom (Bud) Conway; and one sister Edith Trask.

Funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dodge City on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randall Jahnke presiding. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in rural Hodgeman County. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from Noon to 6:00 PM.
