James T. Terry, 95, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016. Cryptside service: 3 p.m. Friday at Greenwood Mausoleum, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, 76107.
James served in the army as a radio operator. While in service, he married Kittie Lou Cole in San Angelo while going to radio school at the U.S. Army Air Base. Later, while serving in the Aleutian Islands, a son James T. III was born in 1943 and then later Kay in 1945. Upon discharge, the family moved to Fort Worth and he attended college on the G.I. bill and earned an associate degree in accounting. He worked for several independent oil companies before going to work for John Laughlin Investment Company and retired in 1993. He was an avid photographer and, in the following years, took pleasure traveling to many parts of the country documenting the beautiful scenery. As a member of the Fort Worth Camera Club, he won many awards for the beautiful prints he entered in competition.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kay.
Survivors: Son, James Terry III and wife, Darlene of Abilene; granddaughter, Leslie Firebaugh and her daughter, Allison of St. Louis, Mo.; stepsons, Dan Harris and Justin Harris of Fort Worth; and several nieces and nephews.
