Victor Westfall, 81

Cherry Plain – Victor Cecil Westfall, 81, formerly of Cherry Plain Square, died Monday [September 20, 1999] at the Weston-Hadden Convalescent Center in Bennington, Vt.

Born in Duanesburgh, he was son of the late L. Cecil and Rose Auchampaugh Westfall and was the widower of Ruth Brayman Westfall.

He was a resident of the Danforth Adult Care Center in Hoosick Falls for the past two years. He moved to Cherry Plain in 1954 from Chatham.

He was a graduate of the Delanson High School and also Cobleskill College of Agriculture and Technology in 1938.

Mr. Westfall worked with his father-in-law, Fred Brayman, on the family farm in Middleburgh. He later worked at the Chatham GLF and served as the manager of the Stephentown GLF, transferring back to the Chatham GLF (now Agway of Chatham), retiring in 1979.

After retirement, he cared for his mother.
He was a member of the Delanson Methodist Church and a former member of the Stephentown Grange.

Survivors include two sons, Keith V. Westfall of Cherry Plain and Kermit F. Westfall of Schodack; and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at noon Friday from the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 Route 43 in Stephentown with Rev. Constance Ekback officiating. A committal service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in Grove Cemetery in Delanson.

Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
