Funeral services were held Nov 14 at the Church of Christ in Jacksboro at 2 pm for Mrs. Eva Fry, 77, who died in a nursing home in Vernon, November 13.
Officiating was Alvie Cook and burial was in Lynn Creek Cemetery under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home. The body lay in state at Sullivan Funeral Home in Vernon prior to the Jacksboro service. Mrs. Fry had lived in Vernon the past three years to be near her daughter and family.
Mrs. Fry was born in April 1, 1901 in Shannon, the daughter of the late Monroe and Bell Jackson, Her husband, Jep Fry, preceded her in death in 1975. She was a member of the Church of Christ. The Frys lived many years in Shannon, spent some time in Silverton prioor to that and later moved to Jacksboro during their daughters high school, then to Denton for her college years, and back to Jacksboro for retirement time a number of years.
Survivors include the daughter, Mrs. Tom (Jasimine) Pace of Vernon; a sister, Nettie Jackson Wynn of Jacksboro, and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Pace of Vernon.
