Inscription

This stone is erected in testimony of the sincere affection of his widow and children and to perpetuate the remembrance of Col. Daniel Lawrence of Newtown, who departed this life on the 7th day of November, 1807; aged 68 years.

Here lie the loving husband's dear remains, the tender father and the generous friend, the pitying heart that felt when man complains, the widow's friend, and lost to all at last.
