Elizur (q.v., Eleazer) Goodrich, 8th child and 7th son of Benjamin Goodrich and Hannah Olmsted, born of record Sept. 19, 1751 at Ridgefield, Conn. (Ridgefield VRs.) He died per Shaker records Feb. 2, 1812 and was interred at the New Lebanon Shaker settlement in Columbia County, NY.[1]

By an intention of marriage published Dec. 4, 1779 at Pittsfield, Mass., Elizur married Lucy Wright, dau. of Dea. Josiah Wright and Elizabeth Robbins, born Feb. 5, 1760 at Pontoosuc (now Pittsfield), Mass. Lucy would become "Mother Lucy Wright" of all Shakers and successor to Shaker founder "Mother Ann" Lee. Lucy d. Feb. 7, 1821 at the Shaker community at Collonie (Watervliet), Albany County, NY. While "Mother Lucy" has a standing gravestone, no gravestones exist in the cemeteries associated with the New Lebanon, NY Shaker community.

No markers for individual Shaker burials exist at this cemetery. Notwithstanding, based on the text cited in note [1] above and Elizur's recorded date of birth, on the day Elizur died he was 60 years old, and Ætatis suæ (i.e., Æ, "Aged," in the XX year of his Age) 61.
