Leroy worked on his family's farm in Valley Lee for several years before leaving the county to work at Glen L. Martin Aircraft Co. in Middle River, MD.
He married Evelyn Marie Jarboe at St. Michael's Church in Ridge, MD on January 25, 1941. Returning to the county in 1943, Leroy started his own farm, and worked at Patuxent River Naval Air Station as an aircraft mechanic until his retirement in 1974.
After retiring he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and crabbing, but most of all he loved hunting with his beloved beagles. Leroy was a member of the Softball Hall of Fame. He enjoyed spending time with his family whom he adored and his numerous friends. Kilroy enjoyed life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was the son of the late Oliver Lee and Laura Bean Adams of Valley Lee, MD. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mignonette Dobry, Lillian Herrmann, Annie Adams and Catherine Norris; and four brothers, Bean, Benjamin, Aubrey and Joseph Adams.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 65 years and four children, Patricia Gardner of Crofton, MD, Gloria Wilcox of Great Mills, MD, Frances Lyons of Henderson, NV and Thomas Leroy Adams, Jr. of Tall Timbers, MD, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
