Emil Ahrenstorff, the son of Hans and Emma Ahrenstorff, was born June 19, 1888, at Big Rock, Iowa, in Scott County. He passed away February 5, 1971 at the Hartley Community Hospital at the age of 82 yeas, 7 months and 17 days.

He was a lifetime resident of this area, coming here at the age of six. He was united in marriage to Susie Byers on June 2, 1915, at Hartley, Iowa.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical and Reformed Church. He was a member of the Beacon Lodge No. 495.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ernest; brother Harry, and one sister, Minnie.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susis; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Albright of Hartley; one brother, Walter, of Saint James, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews of whom he aws very fond; other relatives and his many friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 9, at the United Methodist Church in Hartley. Rev. Keith Scott officiated.

He is at rest in Pleasant view cemetery at Hartley with Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
