David A. Baxley, 53, of Inwood, WV, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at Georgetown University Hospital after a brief illness.

A son of Janet Baxley and the late Rufus A Baxley, Jr., David was born in Charleston, WV on January 15, 1963. He was a 1981 graduate of St. Albans High School. He received his Associates Degree in Computer Technology from the National Institute of Technology in Cross Lanes, WV. He enjoyed a long career in Information Technology, and loved working with computers.

He also had a deep love of music and played guitar and keyboards. He had a decade-long career in music, playing for several bands, most notably the band, Players. In 1992, he was honored, along with the band, to participate in a USO Tour in Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm.

David enjoyed motorcyles and founded the Inwood, WV Chapter of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club. He filled leadership roles in the Georgia chapter and was involved in the Hagerstown, MD chapter, as well. He was known as a loyal friend and a funny, generous man.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 Wednesday, June 1 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home in St. Albans. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 in the chapel. Interment will be at Cunningham Memorial Park .
