Jimmy Lewis Klein, 66, of Henrietta, Texas passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Henrietta, Texas with Dr. Keva Green and Rev. Howard Walker officiating. Burial will be in the Gray Wynn Klein Family Cemetery near Bellevue, Texas under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta, Texas.

Mr. Klein was born on September 2, 1949 in Henrietta to Lawrence and Louise Klein. He grew up in Henrietta and graduated from Henrietta High School in 1968. He married Cheryl Beth Gray on June 18, 1971 in Bellevue, Texas, and they were married for 41 years before Cheryl's passing in 2013.

Mr. Klein worked as a welder, oil field pumper, farmer, and rancher. He served on the Henrietta School Board from 1990 to 2004 and supported the Henrietta FFA and 4-H. He volunteered his time helping people all over Clay County.

He loved Clay County and especially the Clay County Pioneer Reunion. He served on the Nine Man Board from 1976 to 1978 and 1983 to 1985. He and his wife co-chaired the Clay County Pioneer Reunion Welcome Committee and hosted the Pioneer Luncheon for almost thirty years.

He also loved cars and spent his free time tinkering with antique cars and visiting swap meets. His grandson, Jackson Wynn Johnson, was the light of his world.

Survivors include three daughters, Jana Beth Johnson and husband Joshua of Henrietta, Texas, Jennifer Klein and husband George Burrows of Austin, Texas, and Mary Sue Klein of Abilene, Texas; one grandson, Jackson Wynn Johnson of Henrietta, Texas; and one sister, Gwen Fields of Costa Rica.

Memorials may be made to the Clay County Pioneer Association, the Henrietta FFA Chapter, and the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta.
