The remains of L. Duane Streeter, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Amantha Parsons, both of Volney, will be taken from the receiving vault in Mt Adnah cemetery on Sunday, May 28d. The former will be placed in the family plot recently purchased in Mt. Adnah, and those of Mrs. Parsons will be taken to Phoenix, her former home, and laid beside her late husband, George Parsons of Phoenix, in the Phoenix cemetery. A double memorial service will be held for the departed loved ones in the Phoenix Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Ahrens of Phoenix. The above services will be open to all who wish to attend. Mr. Streeter, aged 69 years, passed away on Feb. 10th 1920, of pneumonia, and on March 5th, 1920, Mrs. Parsons, aged 76 years, who was a member of the Streeter household, died of heart failure. Both were victims of the flu with fatal complications. For several years Mrs Parsons had resided with the Streeter family, and her unassuming, cheerful manner had endeared her to those who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. Her passing was a beautiful translation from this life to one far better, beyond the Great Divide. She manifested the indubitable certainty of the heavenly Joys of the Christian religion which not only consoles and encourages this inanimate existence, but dispels the obscurity of the valley of death as we pass through to the unknown. She will be greatly missed in the several societies of which she was a useful member, and by all who knew her. Mr. Streeter was a citizen of the highest type. His genial sense of humor, his large-hearted sympathy and interest in his fellowmen, won for him the affection of his closest friends and the admiration of all with whom he was associated. His excellent judgment and advice sought by his neighbors and friends, who profited by his extensive business experience and knowledge of affairs. By his death this community has suffered an irreparable loss. Sympathy is extended to the relatives in their bereavement.
