Woodrow L. Pope

Woodrow L. Pope, a lifelong farmer and businessman of Lecta, OH, passed away at the age of 94 at his home on October 26, 2006. He was born on September 9, 1912 at German Hollow to August "Gus" and Lena Klages Pope. He was married for 70 years to Mae Belle Massie Pope and to this union were born two sons, Donovan and Phillip Pope of Gallipolis.

Woodrow belong to the Saint Martin's Lutheran Church, the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and was a 50 year member of the Patriot Masonic Lodge #496.

He is survived by this wife Mae Belle and Sons, Don (Leota) Pope and Phil (Mary) Pope both of Gallipolis, Seven Grandchildren: Cynde (Alan) Kuhn, Tande (Jim) Rose, Bob (Jennifer) Foster, Joe (Melinda) Foster, Amanda (Stuart) Thompson, Amy (Stoney) Johnson, and Chad (Deanna) Pope; Twelve Great Grandchildren: Jody Lunsford, Brandon Montgomery, Jordan and Beau Johnson, Erin and Evan Pope, Taylor, Megan, Mandy, and Morgan Foster, Rhett and Alaina Thompson.

Woodrow was preceded in death by one brother Fred Pope, Four sisters: Edith Carter, Elma Rose, Anna Pope and Georgia Myers.

Services will be Sunday, October 29, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Willis Funeral Home, Burial will follow at the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home on Saturday, October 28, 2006 from 5:30 until 8:30 pm. There will be Masonic Rites held at 8:30 pm at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
