GEORGE W. BAKER

HENDERSON. - George was born September 4, 1897. He was a native of Johnston County but had lived in Henderson about 30 years. He died Thursday afternoon of a shotgun wound which Coroner F. B. Hight said was self-inflicted at the home of a son W. B. Baker where he had been living.

Surviving are his widow Mrs. Florence Baker of Henderson; two daughters, Mrs. Spicey Inscoe of Henderson, and Mrs. Dorothy Sawyer of Spartanburg, S. C.; two sons, W. B. Baker and C. G. Baker, both of Henderson; one brother, Ira Baker of Rocky Mount, and seven grandchildren and a number of stepchildren.

Funeral services for George W. Baker, 54, will be held Saturday afternoon at White Memorial Methodist Church, conducted by the pastor the Rev. J. Syd Locke, assisted by the Rev. E. M. Powell, pastor of West End Baptist Church. Burial in the cemetery at Liberty Christian Church.
