6/9/1935 - 5/28/2016

Carol J. Frisbie, of Ypsilanti, MI, passed from this life to be with our Lord on May 28, 2016. She was born June 9, 1935 in Elgin, Illinois to Raymond F. Conro and LaVaun V. (Cole) Conro. The second of 4 children, she worked as a candy-striper during the late 1940's at St. Joseph Hospital during her older sister's illness and graduated in 1953 from St. Edwards HS in Elgin. After graduation, she then worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell until her children were born. Carol married Raymond J. Frisbie on Feb. 7, 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elgin. She later worked in the Telephone Services Dept at Eastern Michigan University for 36 years and retired Emeritus as Director of Telephone Services in 2011. Not one to be idle, she continued working until March 2016. Carol overcame 5 occurrences of lung cancer over the last 11 years and was fighting, as was her way, right up to the very end. She will be deeply missed by her entire family and countless friends. Carol enjoyed golfing with her children and grandchildren, bowling (which is how she initially met her husband of 57 years), crocheting, and caring for everyone she loved and cherished until her last breath. She touched the lives of everyone who ever met her with her generosity and love. She was a passionate fan and booster of the Ypsilanti HS Braves, EMU Hurons, Michigan Wolverines, and the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Joan (1949), father, Raymond (1972), and mother, LaVaun (2001). She is survived by her husband, Raymond, six children: Joyce Lenhart of Fort Wayne, IN; Teresa Frisbie of Ypsilanti, MI; Kevin Frisbie of Ypsilanti, MI; Kristy Aldrich of Allen, TX; Regina (Eric) Byron of Dexter, MI; and Patrick (Laura) Frisbie of Maumee, OH. And also her grandchildren: Andrea and Erika Aldrich, Tyler Frisbie and Zackary Byron as well as her brothers, George (Judy) Conro of Lemon Grove, CA and Thomas (Linda) Conro of Elgin, IL. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery in Elgin Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Huron Valley Humane Society.
