Robert V. Struble, Sr., 82, of Fostoria, died at 6:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at The Heritage, Findlay.

He was born Dec. 13, 1922 in Erie, Pa. to the late Vincent L. and Clemma A. (Wilkes) Struble. He married Lillie "Ruth" Deisler on Feb. 22, 1951 in Columbus Grove, Ohio, and she survives in Fostoria.

Also surviving are his four children, Lois Ann (Dan) Meyer, Findlay, Robert V. (Mandy) Struble Jr., Fostoria, Dwight E. (Angie Costilla) Struble, Fostoria, and Janet K. Struble, Piketon, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 step great grandchild.

One brother, Harold Struble, and one sister, Velma Myers, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Struble retired in 1980 as a maintenance/ millwright from Autolite/Bendix in Fostoria where he had been employed since 1946.

He also owned and operated Strubles Plumbing and Heating in Fostoria for 10 years.

A 1942 graduate of Fostoria High School, Mr. Struble was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church and was one of the first Eagle Scouts in Fostoria.

Mr. Struble enjoyed camping and was a member of the Airstream Club traveling to Lake Placid, N.Y. and the Ford Wagon Train Camping Club, Fostoria, where he formerly served as Wagon Master. He also enjoyed PT boats, photography, big band music, dancing and playing the cornet.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, August 5, 2005 in the Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Military rites conducted by the United Veterans of Fostoria to begin the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in the Hoening Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to The Diabetes Fund or the American Heart Association in care of Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin Street, Fostoria, OH 44830.
