Dana Lee Anderson, 80, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on May 27, 2016. She was born in Stamford, Texas on April 18, 1936. Dana graduated from University of North Texas with a degree in Education. She was married to Ray Douglas Anderson, and had one daughter, Ann.

Dana had an impactful teaching career in the Brownfield ISD that spanned twenty years and touched the lives of many elementary school students. In a letter, a student's mother thanked her for teaching her son to read and said she was "proud to have a teacher like Dana in the school system." She had a passion for floral decoration and playing bridge, which she continued to play throughout her life.

Dana loved spending time with her family and is survived by her daughter, Ann Hund and her husband Jim Hund; her granddaughter, Lauren; her granddaughter, Heather and her husband, Robin; and her sister Paula Carlton; many nieces and nephews; and her sweet dog, Jenny.

A private memorial service will be held on Monday, May 30th in Moran, Texas where Dana's nephew, Pastor Paul Carlton, will be presiding. On this day, Dana will be rejoined with her husband, Ray, under a grove of oak trees on the family ranch.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Dana's impactful teaching career, where she taught many young students to read, the family requests donations made to the Children's Literacy Initiative or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
