Glyndon Ballard, 75, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday at his home. Surviving is his wife of 52 years Iris Ballard. He was the son of the late Edward and Ada Ballard. A lifelong farmer and the co-owner of Ballard Brothers Dairy, he was a Korean War Veteran and member of Drakes Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are sons, Tim Ballard of Lancaster, Tom Ballard (Kelli) of Round Rock, Tex., and Patrick (Stephanie) Ballard of Winchester; a daughter, Joanne (Pat) Ray of Lancaster; his brothers, Bobby (Joyce) Ballard and Edward (Barbara) Ballard, both of Lancaster; a sister, Mary Ruth Speaks of Lancaster; eight grandchildren, Erica Merrill, Christopher Ballard, Dustin Ballard, Savannah Ballard, Jake Ballard, Harrison Ballard, Ella Ballard, and Lily Ballard; and two great-grandchildren, Kylie Merrill and Abigail Merrill.

Glyndon is preceded in death by two brothers, James Ballard and Douglas Ballard; and two sisters, Opal Lay and Dorsie Miller. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Everett Priddy and Rev. Lester Tirey officiating. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Manse Cemetery in Paint Lick.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Day, Freeman Wylie, Ken Mullins, Roland Godsey, Kenneth Hale and James Thomas Rankin. Honorary pallbearers are Wilkie Sizemore and members of Drakes Creek Baptist Church. A guestbook is at www.spurlinfuneralhomelancaster.com
