Memorial service will be held Tuesday, 1p.m. at First United Church of Christ, Sauk Centre for Eleanor K. Benson who died Saturday at Saint Michael's Nursing Home, Sauk Centre. A private family interment will be prior to the service on Tuesday.
Eleanor Benson was born in Bowman, ND to Teman and Clara Gorden. She married Jim Benson on March 1, 1941 in Sauk Centre. For many years, the couple owned and operated the Ben Franklin Store on Main Street in Sauk Centre. Eleanor was an avid knitter. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Sauk Centre and of the Women's Fellowship.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Benson of Sauk Centre; 2 children; brother, Charles Gorden (Helen) of Waite Park.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Gorden.
