Mignogna, Albert J., 90, Windber died May 23, 2016 at home. Born Nov. 9, 1925 in Portage son of the late Joseph and Rosa (Amorosa) Mignogna. Also preceded in death by siblings Anthony, John, Florence Glista, and Gloria Delimata. Survived by wife of 58 years former Clara Durant. Brother of Eugene, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, brother-in-law Pete Delimata, Portage, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rosemarie and John Wadsworth, Leland, NC. Their children were very special to Albert beginning with Lisa (Mike) Boyle, Christina (Greg) Horvath, and John Wadsworth. John and Rosemarie's grandchildren were extra special as Albert spent many moments with Kyle & Nicole Clevenger, Shyann, Jazmine, & Michael Boyle, and a new addition; a great nephew Karson Skyles. There are also other numerous nieces and nephews. A special recognition to a dear cousin Josephine Berdine. Windber Hospice staff is to be especially commended for their care and support of Albert. Member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Windber where he served as an usher and member of the Holy Name Society. Also member of ISDA. Retiree of former Lee Hospital with 30 years service. Albert served in the USN on board the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea. He was especially proud of the fact that he was on board ship when Admiral Byrd reached the Artic Circle. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc., Windber where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthonys Church, Windber. Fr. Rod, TOR, pastor. Committal church cemetery.
