An excerpt from "The History of Mercer County, It's Past and Present":
The Fairview Baptist Church was organized in September 1850, with eight members, viz.: Henry and Jane Fulton, J. and C. McCartney, Mahitabel Donaldson, E. Carpenter, E. Furman and A. Lewis. Henry Fulton was selected as the first deacon and clerk. Elder W. W. DeVan was secured as first pastor, serving until 1854. He was succeeded by Elders Stedman, Clouse, Parker King, Ward, Thomas, Davis and others. The house of worship, 30x40, was erected in 1851.
According to the 1873 Map of Fairview Twp, the church stood on what is now and empty field at the corner of Rt. 19 and St. Rd. 645.
With her husband, John, she had five children and the pair adopted one other. Her sons included William A. Donaldson, who married Wilhelmina Sault, John Jay Argalus Donaldson, who married Clara Morton. Her daughters included Harriet Jane Donaldson, who married David E. Sault, and their adopted daughter, Ella "Nellie", who married Alfred Morton. Ella was taken in by the family when she was only 11 months old. In life she was not only a devoted mother, an active member in the Baptist Church, and the community at large, but she was also a staunch Republican who actively aided the community during the dark days of the Civil War and spoke for the Abolitionist Cause. *Information found in letters written by John Barr Donaldson to the writers of the Loveland Family History book.
Mehetable died August 30, 1877 and was buried in the Fairview Baptist Cemetery (which was located on Rt. 19 in Fairview Twp, Mercer County until it closed).
