Mr. Donald David “Donny” Anglin, Sr., 57, of Sylvania, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.
He was born in Monroe, GA on June 22, 1958. He attended Social Circle High School and graduated from Ogeechee Technical College with a diploma in Commercial Truck Driving. He was mployed by the Torrington Company for 19 years and XPO Logistics, formerly Conway Freight, for 17 years.
Next to driving an 18 wheeler, he loved to fish, spend time with his grand children and prepare his yard for his Christmas display.
He was preceded in death by parents, Catherlene Ellis Anglin and Rev. James Richard Anglin and a brother, Lee Anglin.
He is survived by his wife, April Hickman Anglin of Sylvania; daughter, Rebecca A. (Phil) Millican of Sylvania; two sons, Donald “David” (Kimberly) Anglin, Jr. of Monroe, and Daniel (Lindsey) Anglin of Sylvania; grandchildren, Brody Anglin, Sophia Anglin, both of Monroe, GA, Shaylee Crews, Karleigh Crews, and Emily Crews all of Sylvania, Ashlyn Millican of Warner Robbins, Brayden Garritano, Devin Anglin, Gavin Anglin, Owen Anglin, all of Sylvania; sister, Cathy (Ted) Pugh of Madison; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert W. “Bobby” and Gloria Hickman of Sylvania; sister-in-law, Rhonda (Raymond) Reynolds of Morrisville, NC; brother-in-law, Bert (Donna) Hickman of McRae, GA and “sister-in-law” and “brother-in-law”, Penelope & Homer Friese of Sylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Joiner Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel.
Services will be Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Joiner Anderson Funeral Home Screven Chapel with Rev. Bert Hickman, Rev. Travis Smith, and Rev. Henry Bazemore officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bascom Cemetery in Sylvania, GA.
Pallbearers will be Charles Waters, Larry Whitehead, Jamie Pugh, Ted Pugh, Wayne Wilkerson, and Bruce Rowell.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of XPO Logistics.
