Cecil James Allen, 77, of Bowling Green Ct. passed away on July 13, 2006 in Virginia Beach. Mr. Allen was born in Princess Anne County on May 4, 1929. He was a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach and attended Oceana High School where he was affectionately called "Pee Wee" and played football and baseball. He had a passion for automobiles and worked at local dealerships as a mechanic, body shop foreman, service department manager, and finally as an insurance estimator for Crittenden Adjustment Company in Virginia Beach. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Atlanta Braves whether they were win-ning or losing. He was an athlete who won many trophies for racing go karts in Virginia Beach and Elizabeth City and for bowling, most recently with the Tuesday Night Rejects. He was a talented golfer and long-time member of the Red Wing Golf Association. Mr. Allen is predeceased by his parents, four brothers, one sister and his first wife, Patty W. Allen. Mr. Allen leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Margaret Allen, his daughters; Diane McLaughlin (Michael) of California; Debbie Wolcott (Moe); Denise Walker (Larry); Colleen Grimes (Al) and Kathleen David, all of Virginia Beach and Maureen Stinchcombe (Adam) of Arizona. He also leaves behind two sisters; Mabel Perry of Virginia Beach and Lois Madon (Randy) of Georgia. Mr. Allen is also survived by his 11 grandchildren; Rich Binder of California; Andrea and Traci Wolcott; Chris and Jennifer Grimes, and Meaghan and Caitlin David, all of Virginia Beach; Vicki Fuller of Arizona; and Ricki, Steve and Andy Barber of New York. He also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Maestas & Bailey Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, 1801 Baltic Ave, Virginia Beach where the family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2006 from 7-9 PM. Interment will be held privately in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 6315 N. Center Dr., Suite 233, Norfolk, VA 23502.
