Glen Fork, WV - Howard Brown, 78, Glen Fork, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 1955 in a Welch Hospital from cardiac insufficiency (per WV Death Certificate #11514 Dist #240 Serial #407, McDowell County, WV, 1955).

Born March 13, 1877 at Cyclone, he was a son of the late James Remley Brown (1846-1900) & Mary Hasetine Bailey-Brown (1846-1919); brother of Amanda Brown Brown (1867-1930), Ambrose Brown (1868-Deceased), Celite Brown-Taylor (1870-1929), Amos L. Brown (1871-1953), Ella Brown-Perry (1872-1949), Emily Brown-Richmond (1874-Deceased), Hagerman Slack Brown (1876-Deceased), Malinda Caroline Brown-Cook (1880-Deceased), Jane Priscilla Brown-McGraw (1882-Deceased), James B. Brown (1884-Deceased), Lewis Powell Brown (1891-Deceased), & Isaac H. Brown (Died in 1890).

He was previously married to Virginia Brown-Brown (1872-Deceased) on July 27, 1897 in Logan County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Logan County, WV, 1897, Page 7, Line 10, Application Date: July 27, 1897); father of

Surviving are his wife, Marlina Dell Adkins-Brown (1873-1960) whom he married on April 19, 1903 in Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1903, Page 72, Application Date: April 16, 1903); three sons Grady Brown (1908-Deceased) of Charleston, Elbert Brown (1899-Deceased) and Ova Estil "Dub" Brown (1911-1986) of Glen Fork; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Brown-Cook of Alderson.

Funeral services for will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Independent Baptist Church at Glen Fork with the Rev. Walter Norman and the Rev. Wiley Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery at Glen Fork.
